The perfect quick make to gift to someone you love! I’ve included lots of step by step photo’s for this one. Black chenille yarn isn’t the easiest to work with so make sure you’ve got plenty of light in your crochet spot. If you’re a beginner then perhaps try swapping the black for pink to make it easier to see your stitches.
Materials:
Colour A: James C Brett Flutterby, Black
Colour B: James C Brett Flutterby, Red
Colour C: Rico Ricorumi DK , Black
Hooks:
4mm for Chenille
2.5mm for DK
Body – Top Part:
1. Using colour A, work 13 sc in magic ring

2. [Sl st (do not count as st), ch 1, hdc] in the same st, 4 dc in the next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc in the next 3 sts, [hdc, dc, hdc] in next st, sc in the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 4 dc in the next st, [hdc, ch 1, sl st (do not count as st)] in the same st (25)

3. Change to colour B, 2 dc, hdc, 5 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 3 sc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 5 sc, hdc, now in the same st as you made your first dc of this round, 2dc in the same st (27)

4-6. Sc in each st
Fasten off.
Body – Bottom Part:
1. Using colour C, work 6 sc in magic ring (6)
2. Inc in each st (12)
3. *1 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (18)
4. *2 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (24)
5. *3 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (30)
6. *4 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (36)
7. *5 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (42)
8. *6 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (48)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach the two body parts together.
Pin the two parts and sew together, stuff the body firmly as you go along.

Head:
1. Using colour C, work 6 sc in magic ring (6)
2. Inc in each st (12)
3. *1 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (18)
4. *2 sc, 1 inc** repeat * to ** 6 times (24)
5-8. Sc in each st
9. *2 sc, 1 inv.dec** repeat * to ** 6 times (18)
10. *1 sc, 1 inv.dec** repeat * to ** 6 times (12)
Stop crocheting and stuff the head firmly
Attach the head to the body, the bottom of the head should sit on the just above the bottom part of the body.

Antennae (make 2):
Using colour C and a 2.5mm hook, ch 7 (make sure to leave a long tail before your chains), fasten off leaving a long tail.
On the end of your chain, make a knot including a few of the chains,
weave in the end.
Using the long tail from the start of your chain, attach the
antennae’s between row 4 and 5 of the head, with 2 sts in between.
